Danilo Vigato claims an impressive victory against the man to beat Michele Turetta in Italian Super Premier League

The third week of the Italian Super Premier League has come to an end. This league is organised by Jacopo Ghirardon and includes 16 of the top players from Italy, including Giordano Reale, who is the commentator of DAZN Italy when darts is on Italian television. All matches are best of 12 legs, so a draw is possible and all players play each other once before the top four will qualify for the play-offs. Several of the matches are being livestreamed on the Facebookpage Diddle for the Middle. The top four after fifteen matches will claim a spot in the play-offs, which will be the first matches in real life after the Italian lockdown and will take place in early July.

All players play a number of matches a week, but are free to arrange a day and time for the matches. That explains that in the results below some players appear sometimes a couple of times in a few matches and thereafter not for a while.

After the first two weeks Michele Turetta was convincingly topping the league having won thirteen points out of a possible fourteen including a 7-4 victory against current number two Daniele Petri. After ten matches he still was unbeaten with Alessio Passadore being the only player who hadn’t lost against Turetta at that moment. In the eleventh match Italian Champion Danilo Vigato showed what he is capable of. He averaged 99,57 to beat the man to beat Michele Turetta 7-2. This great match can be watched back here. Turetta is, however, still topping the league with nineteen points out of a possible twentytwo. Turetta has once again claimed an important victory by beating Francesco Daros, the current number four of the league, 7-5.

Daniele Petri collected seven points out of his last four matches. He had a draw against Mattia Pini and won the other three matches. Therefore Petri is still the number two of the league.

Thanks to his win against Turetta Danilo Vigato (the person most right at the photo, ed.) became the current number three of the league with sixteen points out of a possible twentytwo. Vigato, however lost 7-4 against Samuele Casotto, the current number five of the league, which might be crucial in the end, since Vigato is currently only above Casotto on leg difference (+21 versus +18) with Daros between them with a leg difference of +19.

Francesco Daros claimed a virtual play-off spot by winning three matches before bowing down to the current number one Michele Turetta in a deciding twelfth leg.

Samuele Casotto had a decent week by winning three out of four matches, including a 7-4 victory against Danilo Vigato. Losing 7-3 against Nicola Giovannini, one of his rivals in the battle for the play-offs spots, might cost him a top four spot in the end. Casotto finds himself joined third after eleven of the fifteen matches. Casotto is virtually missing a play-off spot by leg difference.

Nicola Giovannini lost his virtual play-off spot due to losses against Daniele Petri and Marco Bendoni, but had beaten Samuele Casotto, one of his rivals in the battle for the play-offs spot, 7-3. Giovannini is, however, only one point below Danilo Vigato, Francesco Daros and Samuele Casotto, who are sharing the third place at the moment.
